THE Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier Soccer League returns to the scene on the 6th of November for the 2021-22 season after a prolonged two season break owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The premier soccer league (PSL) on Friday released the fixtures list for the new season which is unique to the traditional local football season as it spills into next year, a trend which is common with European leagues while most of Africa has since followed suit.

In the statement, PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare said that match day one is on next Saturday but the league will take a break in December, only to resume after the Africa Cup of Nations in February next year.

“The 2021-22 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League is set to commence on Saturday 6 November 2021. The league will break in December for the holidays and resume in February 2022 after the Africa Cup of Nations matches,”she said.

Bare further emphasised strict adherence to the Covid-19 protocols by all those involved in the premier league football activities.

“The PSL urges clubs and all stakeholders to strictly adhere to Covid-19 protocols to ensure that our stadia remain safe during this pandemic,” she also said.

The resumption of the premier league comes barely two weeks after the commencement of the Chibuku Super Cup challenge which is now at the quarter final stage.
