CANADA based Zimbabwean Tinos Viriri also known as DJ Slice or Slicey T has taken a swipe at Passion Java saying he should not participate in the creative process of music composition.

DJ Slice was the front-man of the former boy band, SLICE which shot to fame in the late 90s with hit tracks such as ‘Ndiwe Wandinoda’.

Speaking to this publication from Canada, DJ Slice said Java’s interference in music composition is pure manipulation.

“When someone has money, he should sponsor musicians without having other motives especially those that are political. I am of the opinion that he is killing the music industry using his political connections.

“Telling Roki what to sing just because you have the money cannot be read or viewed as benevolence but pure manipulation. I fear Roki’s career is headed south and he may find it difficult to come back.”

“What Java is doing is unlike what other benefactors do via paying musicians who mention their names in their songs or get endorsed by musicians and pay for that,” he said.

DJ Slice said with Java owning a record label, he is likely going to force youngsters to sing what he wills as the nation heads for 2023.

“There could be a scenario where he pays these young musicians to sing politically unpopular songs just because he has the money,” he said.
ZimDancehall chanter Seh Calaz accused Java for killing the Late Soul Jah Love’s career while also accusing him of dismantling a lot of talents in the Showbiz industry.

Meanwhile, DJ Slice passed on the baton stick of music promotion to his children saying it was about time he handed his reigns to his progeny namely Malcom and Mike Viriri.

“I felt it was about time to hand over the promotion business to my children. They share my DNA and have showed interest in running the promotion business,”DJ Slice added.
He also mentioned the importance of giving the youth the chance to map the future.

With the COVID-19 pandemic threatening many facets of the showbiz sector he hopes lockdowns be lifted. He also said his children running Biggz Entertainment Canada are working on bringing Jah Prayzah and Killer T to the North American country.

“Biggz Entertainment has spoken to Jah Prayzah who is willing to perform at the Afro Fest. They also spoke with Killer T who also expressed interest in performing here in Canada which will be his first time to perform in North America.

They also spoke with Enzo Ishall who said he is considering coming here. It seems he is pre-occupied with his Paint Gun venture, a niche I think he is doing very well in,” he said.

He explained that his rapper child Malcom better known by the moniker Lil Major will be balancing his music and the promotion business as he will be working alongside his brother Mike.
